FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 18, 2001--Petmed Express, Inc. (OTCBB:PETS) today announced that it has successfully implemented its new order entry system.

Petmed Express has replaced its legacy order entry system with a fully integrated software package. The new application, known as Masterpack, is now being utilized in Distribution, Fulfillment, Accounting, Purchasing, and Internet Commerce. The Masterpack installation was completed one month ahead of schedule.

Petmed Express' new IS Director, Richard Kersh, headed the team that installed Masterpack at Lens Express in 1998 and was the previous MIS Director at Lens Express from 1997 to 2000. His team included Chris Digiacomo, who is now Systems Manager at Petmed Express. Together they have successfully integrated Petmed's customer database with the website and the phone system to provide real time order inquiry, automated Internet ordering, CTI functionality for sales such as screen pops, and IVR applications which allow customers to place orders and perform customer service tasks without speaking to a live representative.

Based on results at Lens Express, Mr. Kersh estimates these new features, along with a much streamlined order entry process, will allow Petmed to increase its order volume exponentially while requiring fewer additional sales representatives.
