The first five ingredients of this high protein dog food are fresh or raw poultry and fish ingredients, including turkey, chicken, turkey giblets, quail, whole blue whiting, giving your small dog a strong source of protein, vitamins and minerals. ORIJEN WholePrey ingredients including nourishing organs provide your dog with the most succulent and nutrient-rich parts of prey, and the freeze dried coating provides a burst of flavor dogs instinctively crave. How should I store this product?
To help maintain freshness, seal the bag tightly and store it in a cool, dry location.
ORIJEN Small Breed Dry Dog Food Directions:
- Because your dog is unique and ORIJEN™ pet foods are packed with animal protein, feeding requirements will vary with breed, environment, age and activity.
- Orijen suggests using the feeding guide below as a starting point, and monitoring your dog’s weight and adjusting portions as needed.
- Feed your pet twice daily and always keep fresh, clean water available.
- PUPPIES: At 1 1/2 -3 months old, feed 2x the Adult amount
- 3-6 Months: Feed 1 1/2 times the Adult amount
- 6-11 Months: Feed 1 1/4 times the Adult amount.
- GESTATION: Increase from 25-50% the Adult Amount
- LACTATION: Feed "free choice."
- When switching diets, transitioning slowly will give your pet’s digestive system time to adjust to the nutrient-levels in ORIJEN. Over a 10-14 day period, gradually mix in ORIJEN, increasing the amount each day so that by the end you are feeding 100% ORIJEN.
If you use treats for training, consider using a portion of your small dog's daily food allowance as treats to avoid overfeeding.
